The Siphung is a musical instrument belonging to the Bodo community of the state of Assam. It is a long wind instrument made of bamboo, resembling a flute. The Siphung Bahi is an integral part of all Bodo festivities. A bamboo tube having one end closed by its natural node. One blowing and five finger holes. Used as melodic accompaniment in ‘Bodo’ music and group dance.
