Description: In the present paper discusses about the relationship between music and silence. Silence is of vital help to the creation and contemplation of music. Going through this paper knows about some important points which is necessary for music, i.e. first, for listening to a music recital properly, we need perfect silence; and, secondly, moments of quiet are not only inevitable within the very run of music itself, but even desirable because music is essentially a contemplative, not a dramatic art; and because contemplation whether religious or merely secular, always needs and involves a measure of quiet.
