Sodu Burra is a stringed instrument made of gourd and wood. This is a drone instrument and is found in Andhra Pradesh. Majorly used by ‘soothsayers’ of Maharashtra and neighboring regions.

A slashed off gourd covered with wooden circular plank, fixed at the centre under a bamboo tube. A single steel string is fixed to the wooden attachment at one end and a single peg at other end. Plucked by bare fingers. Used by ‘soothsayers’ of Maharashtra and neighbouring regions as a drone instrument.
