Description: This book gives an account of colonial Bengal as the authors felt that no readable account of Bengal was available at the time of publishing. It also gives a description of Bengal’s physical characteristics, products, Hindu period, Mohammedan era, antiquarian relics, classification and distribution of the people, religious beliefs and festivals, British rule and its effects, and the progress of education.
