07 DECEMBER ARMED FORCES FLAG DAY
In 1949, under the leadership of the Defence Minister of India, a committee was set up, where it was decided that henceforth, 07 December would be observed nationally as Armed Forces Flag Day. Every year, on this day, the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force, and the Indian Navy organise various programmes to highlight their relentless efforts to national security. The main objective of the Armed Forces Flag Day is to honour the martyrs and the men and women in uniform who courageously fought and continue to defend our borders to safeguard the country's honour. On this day, the citizens of India voluntarily donate funds towards the welfare of retired and serving armed forces personnel and their families. Let us, as citizens, salute our Indian armed forces, who have always been unwavering in their commitment to protect us.
